Victorious Women of Valiant CIC

Ellesmere Children's Centre

Many studies have shown that the March 2020 lockdown had tragically increased the risks of harm and isolation for women of domestic violence/abuse. The impact of this left many women with increased mental health issues, emotional distress, physical harm and had drastic effects on families and children.

For this project, Victorious Women of Valiant ran a series of drop in coffee mornings for women survivors of domestic abuse. Combined with the coffee mornings were storytelling workshops where women used a variety of creative art materials to create their personal story of surviving domestic abuse through the pandemic. These sessions created a safe and comfortable space for women to share with others who have gone through similar experiences and use their creativity to tell their story through a form of artwork.
