Sharing the View: Philosophy for Communities with Rosie Carnall

Graves Gallery

Rosie Carnall is a creative facilitator who runs regular community philosophy sessions in museums and galleries, pubs, and other community settings.

For this project, Rosie worked with staff at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, ASSIST Sheffield, the City of Sanctuary and Burton Street Foundation. Staff members from these organisations took part in creative activity sessions which encouraged reflection and the sharing of experiences, for example, contributing a word or image to a handmade ‘scrap book’.

On the eve of the National Day of Reflection (22nd March), Rosie also facilitated an open session in the Graves Gallery to share what staff groups involved had done and give chance for others to join in. During the session, participants were able to look at the art and talk together, sharing ideas and stories, and creating a shared community memorial of Sheffield's pandemic experience.
